"Cranial Meanderings" by Spaceman Spiff

Sunset falls:
That exhausted entity
Settling upon the reddened horizon

The flowers close
Their precious petals for the night
But the honeybees still seek the nectar
Hidden within those protected buds

The lone honeybee:
No one ever taught him how to fly

The fury fist clenched:
Lying in the soil, knuckles bleeding,
He tries but knows

  His Heaven is still dying

Sunrise arrives:
Morning finally come
That burning red ball that stings his eyes and
Makes them water

And as the lone honeybee watches from
Its crippled stupor
The roses die one by one
In a wasted field of wilted love

The poem that inspired the song...
