To encourage the adoption of the READROOM.TOC format by
electronic publishers, a special program has been implimented to provide
some incentives to those who actively support the format.

The READROOM.TOC format has many distinct advantages for
publishers who elect to distribute their newsletters and magazines in
this standard:
        1) Free, unlimited run-time reader is available (READER.COM) for
use on IBM compatible computers. This small program may be
included with each edition for distribution.
        2) Since the format is based upon ASCII files, the basic
publication will be available to all computer users. The
READROOM.TOC file can be used as a table of contents for
those unable to use the READER.COM program.
        3) One edition of their publication can be used for online as
           well as offline viewing.
        4) In addittion to ASCII versions of the files, the publisher
may include ANSI text, [ANSIART] and RIP files.
        5) Up to 99 options may be included on the main menu, with
each option being either an article, an executable (offline
reader use only) or a submenu that may include up to 99
           options also.
        6) Each article may be of unlimited length.

Additional features that will appeal to qualifying publishers
include:
        1) Free, registered copy of the READROOM door. (NOTE:, this
perk will be terminated following the release of version 4.0
           of the format.)
        2) Inclusion of their publications in InfoMat's SINCE door for
automated distribution to registered users of the READROOM door.
        3) Access to the SINCE door on InfoMat for their own BBS.
        4) Involvement in the future development of the READROOM.TOC
           format standard.
        5) Notification of future changes to the standard.

If you wish to talk with other publishers who are currently
supporting the READROOM.TOC format, or wish information on how to
qualify for the above offer, please contact Michael Gibbs at
InfoMat BBS, (714) 492-8727.
